India’s Mohammed Siraj, New Zealand’s Matt Henry, and the West Indies’ Jayden Seales have been shortlisted for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for August 2025, after producing standout bowling performances across formats.
Siraj was the driving force behind India’s dramatic six-run victory over England at The Oval, which ensured the five-Test series ended 2-2. With Jasprit Bumrah sidelined, Siraj shouldered the responsibility of leading the attack, sending down more than 46 overs across the match. He picked up four wickets in the first innings before delivering a decisive five-wicket haul in the second, sealing an unforgettable overseas win and the Player of the Match award.

Henry, meanwhile, was relentless in New Zealand’s 2-0 Test series sweep of Zimbabwe, finishing with 16 wickets at a staggering average of 9.12. He set the tone in the opener with figures of 6-39, adding three more wickets in the second innings to end with match figures of 9-90 and the Player of the Match accolade. The right-armer continued his dominance in the second Test, claiming five in the first innings and two in the second as New Zealand romped home by an innings and 359 runs.
For the West Indies, Seales was the standout in their historic ODI series triumph over Pakistan, their first in 34 years. The young quick bagged 10 wickets at an average of 10 and an economy of just 4.10. After a quiet start in the opening ODI, Seales turned the tide in the second, dismissing Babar Azam and Saim Ayub among his three scalps to level the series. He then produced career-best figures of 6-18 in the decider, the third-best by a West Indies bowler in ODI history, to script a commanding 202-run victory and seal a landmark series win.
Meanwhile, in women’s cricket, Pakistan’s Muneeba Ali, Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, and the Netherlands’ Iris Zwilling have secured nominations for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for August 2025.
